Our benefits package may change at any time at Management's sole discretion without notification. However, as of February 2009 that package includes the following:
Insurance
Teklab's health insurance plan (provided by Group Health Plan, Inc) provides regular full-time employees and their eligible dependents access to medical insurance benefits. All full-time employee's become eligible to participate in the health insurance plan the first of the month, following 30 days of employment. The premium will be deducted from the employee's bi-weekly payroll check.
Employees who are eligible for the group health insurance plan may purchase individual or family dental under the Delta Dental Plan of Illinois. Teklab Inc will pay one half of the full-time employee's dental coverage. The premium will be deducted from the employee's bi-weekly payroll check.
Teklab Provides all regular full-time employees with a $50,000 life insurance policy through Hartford Life.
- Long Term Disability Insurance
Teklab provides all regular full-time employees with long term insurance for those injuries/disabilities (not limited to work related) that last greater than six months.
Retirement Benefit
Teklab makes available to all regular full-time employees, a Simple IRA through Fidelity Investments. Employee is eligible if they are reasonably expected to earn $5000 in the current year and have received at least $5000 in compensation from Teklab during any prior calendar year. For participating employees, the company will match up to the employee's first 3% of contributions to the plan.
Section 125 Plans

Premium Only Plan is a pretax benefit contribution option for full-time employees. This benefit offers participants a non-taxable benefit when paying a portion of an insurance premium through payroll deduction. Employee contributions for dependant health care or dental insurance premiums are deducted from gross pay before federal income tax and FICA are calculated.

Flexible Spending Account (FSA) allows full-time employees to set aside monies on a pretax basis from their payroll for eligible health and/or dependent care expenses that are not covered by an employer provided benefit plan.
Education
- Tuition reimbursement for chemistry and math (non-business) classes.
- Teklab will reimburse employee for one class per semester.
- Employee must receive a grade of C or better.
- Reimbursement will occur with presentation of grade card and copy of course fees.
- Teklab will also pay enrollment fees for approves seminars.
Vacation

A full-time employee will accrue 3.08 hours of vacation per pay period (2 weeks per year) to be taken anytime during the vacation year with the approval of their supervisor.

After a full-time employee's five year anniversary of employment and thereafter, the will accrue 4.62 hours of vacation per pay period (3 weeks per year) to be taken anytime during the vacation year with the approval of their supervisor.
Sick Leave
- A full-time employee will accrue 1.54 hours of sick leave per pay period (one week per year).
Employee Assistance Program
An Employee Assistance Program is an enhanced work and family life benefit which is a prepaid and confidential service that provides quick resources and assistance with everyday issues and work, family and personal challenges. Some examples of assistance provided are:
24/7 access to a licensed health professional for counseling services Free financial and legal consultation Event planning Child care arrangements
