Environmental Field Technician (Collinsville, IL)

Teklab provides environmental sampling and testing services in the St. Louis, Springfield IL, Chicago, and Kansas City Metropolitan areas. Our client base includes a wide variety of agencies, industries, engineering firms, municipalities, and school systems.

The candidate will work with the field sampling team setting up sample equipment and collecting samples from our client list. Clients include manufacturing facilities, wastewater treatment plants, and landfills, with a focus on work at refineries.

Field technician duties include environmental sample collection from client’s on-site facilities. Responsibilities include scheduling, transporting field equipment to site, utilizing sampling equipment, following test methods/procedures for sample collection, and following proper safety protocol. Additional responsibilities include sample pickup/drop off in coordination with client requests, transporting samples in accordance with Teklab’s procedures, and practicing communication between project management and courier personnel.

Must have availability for occasional sampling performed outside of regular business hours.

Employee is responsible for maintaining all client specific requirements (onsite safety training, badges, permits, etc.) or other Teklab safety training as assigned by a supervisor or health and safety coordinator. Teklab employees may subject to pre-screening prior to field sampling on client’s property, as requested. Teklab employees may subject to random drug and alcohol tests. The tests may be required or random; if any injury occurs on Teklab property, job sites, or while involving a company vehicle. Individual background screening is also required for each employee.

Employee must possess a Valid Driver’s License at all times. An environmental studies background is preferred, but not required. Driving record must meet insurance underwriting requirements. Responsibility for maintaining a clean vehicle, including communicating needed maintenance (routine and otherwise) to department supervisor.

Job Type: Full-time

Starting Pay: $20-$26 per hour (based on qualifications) 

Schedule:

  • 8+ hour shift
  • Monday through Friday
  • Weekend overtime availability

Laboratory Courier (Collinsville, IL)

The candidate will work with Teklab’s courier and project management teams to conduct daily pickup(s) and delivery responsibilities.

Courier responsibilities include (but may not be limited to):  sample pickup and/or supply deliveries in coordination with client requests, transporting samples in accordance with Teklab’s procedures, and practicing communication between project management and courier personnel.  Courier range may be up to 150-mile radius from the Collinsville laboratory.

Employee will be responsible for maintaining all client specific requirements, onsite safety training, badges, permits etc. Additionally, all other Teklab safety training as assigned by a supervisor or health and safety coordinator must be completed and maintained. Teklab employees may be subject to pre‑screening, if/as requested. Furthermore, Teklab employees may also be subject to random drug and alcohol tests whenever deemed necessary by managment.

Teklab couriers must possess a valid driver’s license while employed. Driving record must meet and maintain minimum insurance underwriting requirements. As such, employee is responsible for maintaining a clean/efficient vehicle inside and out, this includes communicating needed maintenance (routine and otherwise) to the department supervisor.

Job Type: Full-time

Starting Pay: $18-$22 per hour

Laboratory Technician (Collinsville, IL | 2nd Shift)

Teklab is seeking enthusiastic and detail-oriented Laboratory Technicians to join our growing team! As an essential part of our organization, you will contribute to the critical environmental regulatory system that monitors contaminants in our water, soil, and air, ensuring the health and safety of our communities.

As a Laboratory Technician, you will perform a variety of laboratory tests and analyses, contributing to the accurate and timely delivery of environmental data.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a closely related field (preferred).
  • High school diploma required, with coursework in science and math (preferred).
  • Work availability Monday through Friday between 1:00 pm – 9:30 pm or 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm, with occasional overtime (Start and end times are flexible within these windows).

    Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
    Estimated Salary: $20 – $28 per hour based on qualifications
